The Scottish Gas Men's Scottish Cup got underway on Saturday as five sides booked their spots in the Second Preliminary Round.

There were two sides making their Scottish Cup debuts and both were on the winning side, with Jordan Boyd's goal giving Whitletts Victoria their first ever win in the competition, while Stonehaven won 3-2 on penalties after a goalless draw with Glenafton Athletic.

Dundee North End are a side who have enjoyed success in recent seasons in the Scottish Cup and they overcame Shortlees Amateurs 3-2.

There were also victories for Penicuik Athletic, who defeated Hawick Royal Albert 2-1, and St Andrew's United, who enjoyed a 1-0 win over Jeanfield Swifts.

The second Preliminary Round will take place on the weekend of Saturday, 22 August.
