Last month saw Gordon McCabe and Duncan McLullich represent Scottish refereeing while officiating two Futsal Champions League tournaments in Albania and Hungary.

Since being appointed in January 2026, the Scottish FA Referee Operations have Gordon and Duncan officiating Futsal at the highest level of the game.

Within this specialised area of officiating, Scotland's two representatives refereed three games each in a tournament featuring teams from Hungary, Türkiye, Kosovo, Denmark, Wales, Albania and Kosovo.

UEFA Futsal Champions League tournaments involve four teams playing in a ‘round robin’ format which allows each of our referees to officiate in three matches.

Both Gordon and Duncan were enormously positive about their experience at the tournament, with each of them reaching personal milestones within the tournament. The opening game for Gordon was his 50th time officiating at Champions League level for Futsal, while the tie between FC Drenica Futsal of Kosovo and Sakarya Karasu 1933 of Albania was Duncan's first time at this level.
