The draw for the Scottish Gas Men's Scottish Cup took place on Sunday evening, with two-time Scottish Cup winner Graeme Shinnie completing the 40 team draw at Barclays Hampden. Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Aberdeen hero Shinnie joined Gordon Duncan to draw the ties, which will be played on the weekend of Saturday, 24 October. The second round includes the 30 winners from the first round alongside the ten clubs from SPFL League 2 entering the competition. Reflecting on his success in the tournament with both Caley and the Dons, Graeme looks back fondly on lifting the trophy; "It was really special to win it with Inverness, and at a reasonably young age at the time. Being Captain at that age was a huge honour in itself, and never did I imagine I'd be stepping up to lift the Scottish cup, it's LLwhat dreams are made of as a young boy."
"You play in the garden, you play in the park, you practice scoring the winning goal in the 90th minute. My brother Andrew and I used to dream of moments like that, and to get it at that young age was phenomenal. To climb the stairs at Hampden and lift the trophy was even more special."
Looking back on lifting it a second time, Graeme cherished the moments with his family;
"It was strange, it was almost like the stars aligned ten years on from the first time. I'd been back at left-back in the games coming up to the final, which was where I had been ten years previously, and to do it again with my hometown club was something special."
"The celebrations that came with it in Union Street and in the town was incredible and memories to last a lifetime. My two kids were there for that one, only my eldest was born at the first one, but the two of them were on the pitch for the second one so memories that we'll cherish forever."
