Scottish FA Coach Education has returned from a successful development tour of the United States after delivering a series of coaching sessions across Massachusetts and Florida. While the Scotland fans left their mark along the Eastern seaboard of the United States, the Coach Education looked to leave their own mark on US Soccer.
The visit saw the Coach Education team work alongside two State Associations and three USL clubs, encompassing the Boston Bolts, Hartford Athletic, the Intercontinental Football Academy New England, Massachusetts Youth Soccer and the Florida Youth Soccer Association.
Across the tour, Coach Education engaged with more than 285 coaches and 205 young players, driving over 600 miles to deliver a combination of grassroots coaching sessions and elite level national team-focused learning opportunities.
The programme was designed to share Scottish coaching expertise while creating valuable opportunities for lifelong learning, with coaches from both countries exchanging experiences, ideas and best practice.
Working in partnership with organisations across US Youth Soccer and US Soccer, the tour highlighted the importance of international collaboration in supporting coach development and creating environments where players can thrive.
As well as delivering practical sessions on the pitch, the Coach Education team showcased the quality and innovation of Scottish coaching, providing American coaches with insights into player development, session design and creating engaging learning environments.
The World Cup Coaching Clinics also gave coaches an opportunity to explore practices inspired by the demands of the international game, bridging the gap between elite performance and grassroots football.
Representatives from Boston Bolts welcomed the opportunity to work alongside the Scottish FA team.

Scottish FA Head of Coach Education, Ritchie WIlson, believes the visit demonstrated the value of strong international partnerships.
"This tour has been another excellent example of what can be achieved through collaborative working. Building relationships with colleagues across US Youth Soccer,
US Soccer, State Associations and clubs allows us all to continue learning from one another.
"Coach education is built on continuous development. Every opportunity to share experiences, challenge thinking and explore different approaches ultimately benefits the coaches we work with and, most importantly, the players they support.

By working together, sharing ideas and building lasting partnerships, we can continue to develop coaching across US Youth Soccer and US Soccer while strengthening our own coaching in Scotland."
The visit forms part of the Scottish FA's ongoing commitment to developing coaches through meaningful partnerships, creating opportunities to learn from different football cultures and ensuring Scottish coaching continues to make a positive impact both at home and abroad.
