A Heart of Midlothian academy product, Wilson made his first team debut at the age of 16 in January 2024 in a Scottish Gas Scottish Cup tie against The Spartans.
He also gained valuable experience that season representing Hearts B in the Lowland League, scoring a number of goals and he would grab his first Hearts goal in October 2024 against St Mirren.
His real breakthrough moment then came a week later in the Edinburgh Derby as he scored a late equaliser in a 1-1 draw against Hibs.
More headlines would follow in the 2024/2025 as he became the youngest scorer in the Conference League's short history, by netting in a group stage match against Petrocub.
It was during this season that he made his international debut, becoming the youngest man to play for Scotland at the age of 18 years, 17 days in a match against Greece.
With Wilson struggling for gametime in a high-flying Hearts side in the 2025/2026 season, he opted to join Tottenham Hotspur on a short-term loan deal.
He impressed in their Under-23 side, scoring a number of goals, and was rewarded with a spot in the matchday squad during the final weeks of the season.
He then earned a second Scotland cap during a FIFA World Cup 2026 warm up match against Curacao after spending the week as a training player with the senior squad.
Buoyed by his success down south, Wilson returned and began the 2026/2027 season in fine form, notably scoring a wonder goal against Rapid Vienna in a Conference League qualifier, and his performances caught the eye of new Scotland Head Coach Sebastien Pocognoli who recalled him to his squad in September 2026.
